Time on sidelines for Williams
SWANSEA’S Dan Williams is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury.
The midfielder joined Dundalk on loan in January and made an impressive start to life with the League of Ireland Premier Division club, scoring in each of his first two competitive outings.
He made 10 appearances for Stephen O’Donnell’s side but was withdrawn in the second-half of his side’s clash with Sligo on April 15.
And he is set to be out of action for at least a month and has returned to Swansea for rehabilitation.
Williams was in attendance for the Swans’ 1-0 loss to Queens Park Rangers on the final day of the campaign.
It is believed Williams does not require an operation having recently been in a protective boot. “Dan will be out for a period of time,” Dundalk boss O’Donnell told the Irish media. “It’ll be significant enough. We don’t know for sure but he’ll be out for the foreseeable future – the next month at least.”
Wales Under-21 international Williams made his senior debut for Swansea against Reading in the Carabao Cup in August while he scored in his only other first team appearance against Plymouth Argyle a fortnight after his debut.
