Cyclist who died in road accident has been named

A CYCLIST who died after a crash has been named.

David Paul King, who was 58, died in the incident on Friday night.

The collision, which only involved one bicycle, happened at around 8.45pm outside the Discovery Book shop on Cwmamman Road in Garnant, on the outskirts of Ammanford.

Mr King, known as Dai and originally from Swansea, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but sadly died.

His family said that he would be “sadly missed by all his family and friends”.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokeswoma­n for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We are investigat­ing a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision, involving a pedal cycle, which occurred at around 8.45pm on Friday, May 6, outside the Discovery Book Shop on Cwmamman Road, Garnant.

“Anyone with informatio­n that could help officers with their investigat­ion is asked to report it to DyfedPowys Police, either online, by emailing 101@dyfed-powys.police. uk, or by calling 101.”
