Health service needs a full-time head
WE HAVE a devolved health service in Wales and yet waiting times for ambulances are at a record high and waiting times in A&E are at a record high.
The waiting time for a hip replacement is approximately four to five years yet in England it is four to five months. Every health list in Wales seems to be following our health minister’s driving convictions, and getting longer. It is sad to see Eluned Morgan’s defence of such a mess. If our First Minister Mark Drakeford is unwilling to replace her then perhaps he could follow Wrexham’s magistrates’ court and suspend her for six months.
The Senedd insists that its workload is so great it requires an extra 36 members, yet the busy Welsh health service is run by a part-time head, Baroness Eluned Morgan of Ely. So how can Eluned Morgan do justice to the House of Lords and her second job, the Welsh health service? No person at Westminster can belong to both chambers (Commons and Lords). Perhaps Baroness Morgan might find enough time to help the Scots out at Holyrood.
