Concern over Mike Peters’ pneumonia
WORRIED fans of The Alarm have unleashed a wave of sympathy and concern for the band’s frontman Mike Peters after his wife Jules revealed he is suffering from severe pneumonia.
All The Alarm concerts for the next three months are to be rescheduled as Mike faces one of the “biggest threats” to his health.
As the Rhyl rocker suffers from chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, which has left him with a compromised immune system, the prospect of getting pneumonia has long been a worry for his family.
In a message posted on Facebook by wife Jules, she explained that Mike faces around three months of recovery “if all goes to plan”.
She said: “We are left with no choice but to batten down the hatches and protect him whilst the medication and treatment help the recovery.
“It goes against Mike’s core as a musician and human being, but for now we are going to have to reschedule all Mike Peters / Alarm engagements scheduled for May / June / July until we know for certain that Mike is back to full health and completely free of pneumonia.”
Casualties of the rescheduling include The Gathering shows in New York at the Gramercy Theatre on June 17-18.
