Knights Pharmacy in another south Wales buyout

-

A PHARMACY chain has expanded its UK footprint with a buyout of a south Wales group.

Redditch-based Knights Pharmacy has bought out the Cecil Jones group in an undisclosed deal.

Established in 1955, Cecil Jones is a family-owned independent business which owns and operates four pharmacies across south Wales.

Knights can now count 98 different sites in its portfolio of community pharmacies across the country and this latest deal follows last year’s buyout of Pearn’s Pharmacies which also operates in the south Wales area.

Director Anand Sodha said: “Cecil Jones is another family-run group of pharmacies made up of teams that have patient care at their centre just like Knights.

“After getting to know the business and having met our new colleagues, it’s clear they will fit in well with the rest of the Knights family.”

The corporate team in the Birmingham office of law firm Irwin Mitchell advised on the deal.

Solicitor Tom Wisniewski said: “The Irwin Mitchell team has worked with Knights for many years and we are delighted to advise them on this latest deal as the business continues to build its presence. Knights has almost 100 pharmacies in the group and this is another important milestone for its ambitious growth plans for the future.

“The business prides itself on serving the local community and following its values as a family-run firm, ensuring all customers are treated as individuals and receive the highest level of service.”
