We only have the one planet to live on
IN REPLY to Ioan Richard’s latest attack on wind turbines (WM letters, May 21), I would like to make the following points.
The continued use of fossil fuels will make areas uninhabitable, in the past three years Australia has seen record-breaking bushfire and flood events that have killed more than 500 people and billions of animals, they have also had drought, cyclones and freak tides.
In Wales we have had floods on a scale and in areas not seen before.
The science is straightforward – hydrocarbons such as oil produce carbon dioxide, carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas and causes a rise in surface temperature.
We only have one planet and for the sake of future generations we must look after it.
