Lee-Lo playing a waiting game over next move

FORMER Cardiff fan favourite Rey Lee-Lo says it’s a ‘waiting game’ as he searches for a new club after leaving the Arms Park.

The 36-year-old centre was one of 16 players to leave Cardiff at the end of the season, with close friend and Wales international Willis Halaholo also departing.

Having joined Cardiff in 2015, Lee-Lo quickly became a favourite for supporters.

However, his future is now uncertain, with the centre on the lookout for a team.

“To be honest, I’m not so sure yet,” said Lee-Lo about his own future.

“It’s a waiting game and we’ll just see how it goes moving forward.

“I’m just enjoying time with my family and stuff. I will just wait and see for the next few weeks and see what comes up.”

However, one thing is certain. After a run-out for the Barbarians against Swansea RFC on Wednesday evening alongside the likes of Alun Wyn Jones and Bradley Davies, the Samoa international wants to keep on playing.

“Definitely, I want to keep going,” he added.

“The body’s alright. It’s still doing the job. I’ve just been running everywhere in this game!

“It was special for me. Even being at Cardiff for years, I never got a chance to play with guys like Alun Wyn, Bradley or Dan Lydiate.

“All the Ospreys boys. So it was a pleasure for me to play with them, train with them and have a few beers with them.

“Alun Wyn is probably the most chilled out rugby player I’ve seen.”

After eight years in the Welsh capital, leaving the Arms Park is a bitter pill to swallow, regardless of what comes next.

However, Wales is now undoubtedly home for Lee-Lo when he does decide to call it a day.

“It’s a tough one,” he said. “That’s rugby.

“I guess you’ve just got to move on for whatever is next.

“We’ll see how it goes in the next few weeks.

“”I’m settled in Wales. Me and my family will probably stay in Cardiff after rugby and settle down.”
