A GRANDMOTHER killed after being struck by a lorry in Flint was “an incredible person”, her family has said. Angela Williams, 62, died on Monday, June 5 after a lorry hit her on Church Street in the north Wales town.

Ms Williams, who had two sons and one grandson, died at the scene after she had been strolling through the town as she usually would. The driver of the HGV was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. They have since been released under investigation.

On Thursday, in a tribute released through North Wales Police, Ms Williams’ family said: “She was kind and empathetic to people from all walks of life. She was a great mum and grandmother to her two sons and her grandson. We all loved her very much.

“We will miss her enormously and have learned so much from her. She will stay in our hearts forever.

“She was an incredible person who overcame many obstacles in her life, while being a support to others. She was such a positive presence in our family. Angela was popular in her local community and spoke highly of her friends. We would like to thank them all for making her feel welcome in Flint. The world just won’t be as fun without her.

“We are heartbroken and would like to be given privacy and time to grieve.”

North Wales Police said the crash occurred shortly before 12.30pm on Monday. The force is appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact officers. Anyone with information that could help with the ongoing investigation is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 23000482755.
