ARSENAL weathered a grandstand finish to clinch a 3-2 victory at Tottenham and stay top of the Premier League.

A Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg own goal gave Arsenal the perfect start and not long after Micky van de Ven had an effort ruled out for offside, Bukayo Saka made it 2-0 after a slick counter-attack.

Kai Havertz then continued his fine form with a goal from another set-piece.

Tottenham produced a stirring second-half response, given a helping hand when Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya chipped straight to Cristian Romero, who reduced the deficit with 26 minutes left. Declan Rice then fouled Ben Davies inside the area and Heung-min Son fired home a penalty, but Arsenal held on.

Manchester City are a point behind in second with a game in hand after a 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest. Josko Gvardiol opened the scoring and Erling Haaland doubled the advantage.
