Award-winning pub put up for sale

-

AN AWARD-WINNING pub renowned for its food has been placed up for sale.

The Hand at Llanarmon has been run by Jonathan and Jackie Greatorex for the past 10 years.

It has built up an excellent reputation, with two AA rosettes for its food and regularly featuring in the annual Michelin Guide. The owners have also opened a spa in recent years and secured AA 4-star gold standard for its 13 letting rooms.

But over the weekend, Jonathan posted that the 16th Century former farmhouse in Dyffryn Ceiriog has been put on the market.

It is on with Sidney Phillips at a price of £1.3m.

He said: “We are incredibly proud of the product that we have created and the achievements we have made over the past 10 years: AA 4 star gold, two rosettes, the opening of the Spa to name a few, but it’s time to think about an exit and whilst we’re not in a hurry to sell it’s time to put the wheels in motion.”

On Facebook, he added: “Now that our colleagues and family have been told, Jackie and I wanted to let everyone know that we have put The

Hand up for sale. That doesn’t mean that anything is going to happen quickly (when we bought The Hand it had been on the market for a number of years) so don’t panic, you’re not going to get rid of us any time soon.

“I’m sure everyone will appreciate that neither of us are getting any younger and we’ve had an amazing 10 years here so far and we’re incredibly proud of what we have achieved and what we will continue to do as a team. We look forward to welcoming you to come and stay/ eat/drink in the meantime.”
