Homes closed in crackdown on drug use

-

Devon professional surfer and 2018 Love Island star Laura Crane has been rushed to hospital with a serious illness.

Laura, from North Devon, has been in hospital for three days battling the potentially fatal condition sepsis.

A spokesman for Laura, 23, said: “Laura is sadly quite unwell. She was rushed in on Tuesday and they quickly diagnosed sepsis.

“It’s taking time to control her temperature and rid her blood of the infection, but it had spread quite rapidly.

“A scary time for her and her family but we’re praying she makes a full recovery in the next couple of days.”

Laura, 23, has shared a video with her followers and appears to be recovering.

She is hoping to be released from hospital soon. Police were out in force in Newton Abbot yesterday executing a series of closure orders to close homes at the centre of allegations of antisocial behaviour and drug use.

Three homes in the town are being shut down by Devon & Cornwall Police after permission was granted by magistrates.

One property being shut down is in a road which has witnessed several high-profile incidents in the last year.

Last year a 36-year-old was arrested on Prospect Terrace with a serious head injury, following an armed police operation.

It followed an incident on the same street involving a police raid in November 2017.

Another man was found with a large plastic bag containing a large number of wraps believed to contain heroin and crack cocaine.
