Annear relishing chance at Parkway

- BY LEE HALL

Jordan Annear says he is determined to take his chance at playing at a higher level after completing his move to Western League side Plymouth Parkway.

The 22-year-old should make his debut in today’s game against Bradford Town after leaving South West Peninsula League side Falmouth Town, where he scored 46 goals last season to win the golden boot.

He was on trial at Tiverton Town during the summer, but failed to earn a deal there.

Annear said: “I just felt I owed it to myself to give it another try and playing at a higher level.

“For whatever reason it didn’t work out at Tivvy at the start of the season and then Lee expressed his interest in me again, and I just thought that I didn’t know how many more opportunities I would get at playing at a higher standard.”

Parkway manager Lee Hobbs said: “I’m delighted to get Jordan in. We see him as a real prospect for now and the future of Plymouth Parkway.”

Annear will remain dual registered with Falmouth and play for them when he can.

Elsewhere in the Western League today, Willand Rovers continue their charge for the title with an away trip to Clevedon Town.

Buckland Athletic are at home against Bitton. Following a free weekend last week, the Bucks played a friendly against Crediton United in midweek and beat the Peninsula League side 4-2.
