Capt De Vore was joined on the red carpet by Rear Admiral Will Warrender, Flag Officer Sea Training, who said both navies had a lot to learn from each other.

The USS New York is a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock and the fifth ship of the United States Navy to be named after the state of New York.
