Diamonds designed to dazzle

-

Astunning diamond ring that has been in the same South Devon family for many years will come up for sale later this month. The three-carat round diamond is set in platinum and is joined by two baguette cut diamonds. It was brought along to a valuation day at Plymouth Auction Rooms and identified as being of a very good clarity and bright colour. It carries a guide price of £10,000 to £12,000.

For those with a lower budget this popular auction, on Wednesday, hosts a wealth of diamond rings ranging from just £100 to £15,000.

Auctioneer Paul Keen says this is their best show of jewellery this year, with something for everyone at the sale.

Items range from bracelets to earrings and brooches to beautiful pendants.

The sale is perfect timing for those with one eye on Christmas.

A stunning diamond pendant brooch, in its original fitted box marked St Petersburg, could sell for over £2,500.

Antique jewellery is in demand and the large emerald and ruby 19th century ring, discovered at a Kingsbridge valuation day, is expected to attract bids of around £1,500.

The 300 lots sale includes 70 wristwatches with many leading makes such as Rolex, Jaeger Le Coultre, Breitling, Cartier and many Omegas.

There are fine ladies’ and gents’ watches to choose from. The headliners are three gents’ Rolex sports watches including a rare 1969 GMT Master and a 1978 Submariner, models 16710, 5513, 1675. Each watch is expected to sell for more than £5,000.

Wednesday’s auction is at 6pm.
