UAE leaders ‘considering clemency’

The United Arab Emirates is said to be considering offering clemency for an Exeter academic jailed for life on a spying charge.

Daniela Tejada, the wife of Matthew Hedges, has been assured by Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt that the government is “now standing up for” her husband, after she claimed it had initially put foreign relations above his liberty.
