EURO GARAGES EXPAND FURTHER INTO CORNWALL

-

Euro Garages has recently completed the acquisition of

Four Cross Garage in Penryn, Cornwall. The site had been operated as a petrol filling station and car repair workshop by the same family since 1984, who are now taking early retirement.

Following this acquisition of the business, Euro Garages for the immediate future will be operating the site in its current format whilst they consider their options.

Paul Heather, director at Charles Darrow, who acted on behalf of the owners, Craig & Yvonne Turner commented “As with all petrol filling station sales that we handle, they generate a great deal of competitive interest and Four Cross Garage was no exception with strong market interest from the outset.

“Euro Garages were looking to increase their presence in the south west and this petrol filling station proved the perfect purchase for them. Demand remains strong for good freehold sites throughout the South West and despite Brexit uncertainty, we expect this trend to continue with supply being restricted.”

Based in Blackburn, Euro Garages is one of the UK’s fastest growing and most recognisable forecourt operators, with an expanding portfolio of around 360 sites located throughout mainland UK, and over 4,500 worldwide. Euro Garage have high profile partnerships with Subway, Greggs, Burger King, Starbucks and KFC in the UK and Europe.

This purchase will further strengthen Euro Garages portfolio in the South West.

Kivells in Cornwall wrote in to share a recent probate sale in Cornwall, of a unique ancient farmhouse in Lower Landrake on the Devon/Cornwall border near Launceston.

Kivells Professional Services did the probate Valuation, the Residential Property team did the property valuation, the Auctions team sold the goods and chattels and the Farms and Land department completed the sale of the property at an on-side auction.

Kivells’ Elaine Cook says: “It was standing room only at the auction, with the property generating huge interest on the lead up to the sale. The property sold very quickly and went to best and final offers. The successful bidders were a local family from Callington, delighted with the property’s scope for dual occupancy.

“We have a strong and diverse team of experts and professionals at Kivells. We are one big family and thrive when our departments can join forces on a complex sale such as this one.” Lower Landlake Farmhouse, a probate sale handled by Kivells

Stags Farm Agency have just completed the sale of 99 acres of south-facing pasture land with stunning views at Highwood Farm, Huntsham in mid Devon, the latest in a quartet of commercial agricultural land lots within a ten mile radius sold by Stags in the past three months.

In 2006 Stags sold 153 acres at Highwood Farm to the now previous owner, a family farming business based in Herefordshire and after selling 54 acres for them in 2011 Stags commenced the marketing of the remaining 99 acres in July this year with a guide price of £610,000. The sale was agreed in October and completed in November with the sale price very close to the guide.

This sale and three other larger land lots recently sold by Stags are evidence that the land market remains active despite the uncertainty circling around the UK’s departure from the European Union and the Agriculture Bill that will shape our future agricultural policy.

Andrew Dodds, who handled the sale of all four lots for Stags Farm Agency, commented: “At the beginning of the year we were cautious about the how active the farms and land market would perform in 2018, but these sales are evidence of confidence in the market, backed up by the fact that so far this year we have agreed sales of farms and land to a total of £41m for over 4,000 acres.”
