Truro boss Robinson wary of St Albans

- BY RHOD MITCHELL

In what could be one of their last games at their adopted ‘home’ of Plainmoor before a hoped for return to Treyew Road, Truro City will be aiming to continue their climb towards National League South safety when they take on mid-table St Albans City today.

And they will go into the game full of confidence after putting together an unbeaten five-match run in the league to move out of the relegation places.

But manager Leigh Robinson knows his team face a stern test against the visitors, despite their recent struggles which have seen them take just a point from their last four games, including a 4-1 defeat by Torquay United at Plainmoor last month. They also suffered a home midweek FA Trophy replay reverse against Weymouth.

Robinson said: “We’re on a good little run at the moment, but that will be tested on Saturday. They are a talented side with an excellent manager [former Arsenal player Ian Allinson], so we know we'll need to again be at our maximum to win.

“That said, confidence is high at the moment and we have some momentum behind us so hopefully we can force another game our way in a league of constantly tiny margins.”

For the match, City will be without midfielder River Allen, who serves a one-match ban for picking upon five bookings, while striker Louis Rooney and wide man Jordan Copp are out injured.

On the plus side, goalkeeper Harvey Rivers and defender Nick Grimes are available after being cup-tied for the 3-0 FA Trophy win over Greenwich Borough.
