“We even had one gentleman from Holland who bought a penthouse. He has always loved Devon, and he flies into Bristol airport to spend time here.”

Sheila is proud of what her partnership has achieved. “We sometimes get a bad rap, but it can be a great privilege being a developer,” she says. “This has been a challenging project, from getting the funding in place to the construction work, which included demolishing about 60 per cent of what was there and re-building it. It has taken longer than anticipated but we stuck with it, and we are proud of what we have achieved: a lasting legacy for this wonderful community in North Devon.”
