Deep water rescue effort
POLICE officers have been described as “heroes” after entering deep water at a reservoir in Cornwall to save the life of a vulnerable woman.
Emergency services were called to the incident, which took place in Stithians on Thursday shortly after 4.30pm.
Superintendent Adrian Leisk said on Twitter: “Three officers from Falmouth and a @CornwallDogs handler have entered deep water at Stithians Reservoir #Cornwall to save the life of a vulnerable female.
“She is now safe and receiving treatment. Heroes, who consistently put others before themselves. Log 651 20/05 #proud.”
A number of people have shared messages of thanks to the officers involved in the incident.
One wrote: “Great work, well done all concerned. Thanks for being there.”
Another said: “Well done guys not all heroes wear capes, credit to your force.”
