Difficult to judge long ago allegations

PRESIDENTIAL candidate Joe Biden is continuing to deny claims that he sexually assaulted Senate staffer Tara Reade in the early 1990s. He said on TV it never happened. HOWEVER, Ms Reade accuses Mr Biden (77) of pinning her against a wall and assaulting her in 1993.

Whether the alleged assault did happen or not, surely there should be a statute of limitations on such sexual assaults... heinous though they might be.

Why was the incident not reported immediately it happened, giving Mr Biden the chance to refute the allegation?

When such crimes happen so long ago, it will be difficult to judge if it occurred as recounted by Ms Reade. The only offences that should never be forgotten are surely murder and rape. Democrat Mr Biden is due to take on President Donald Trump in November’s election. Mr Trump is urging Mr Biden to respond to the claims.
