Time to grow out of these vile habits

-

DURING recent weeks the FA have stated that spitting is to outlawed by giving yellow yards to offenders.

The vile habit has been noticeable for years, but giving yellow cards could easily mount up to suspensions and certainly in the case of Wayne Rooney of Derby County, who I have seen spit on the pitch around five times as the teams come out and well before the ball has been kicked. He may never play again considering the times he could be banned in his old age.

Another vile habit is removing chewing gum and throwing it on the touchline or pitch as former manager Alex Ferguson of Manchester United did for years.

Perhaps the current dreadful virus is going to teach people to be more respectful and grow up.
