Diversity of items on offer

-

DURING these testing times when we are encouraged to stay at home, public gatherings are banned, and businesses are limited in their facilities and employees, the last thing you expect to see is a local auction house thriving more than ever before. But Dartmoor Auctions have again gone the extra mile by continuing their successful monthly auctions. Being ever sensitive to the current health climate, these auctions are now held online only at EasyLiveAuctions. com instead of our usual home in Chagford Jubilee Hall, but they still maintain the charm and poise of a friendly local auction.

The beauty of the online auctions is that items can be shipped all over the country. Of course, the main support continues to be the people of Chagford, who despite the troubling times are continuingly loyal to local businesses and never fail to participate in and enjoy an auction, whether it is held virtually or not. Nonetheless, shipping is expanding further afield as well. From large orders to Ireland, items going to Scotland and the delivery of a Boomerang

to Australia (which hasn’t yet come back), the shipping team at Dartmoor is never short of places to go. Collecting items is still permitted, however since is it the team’s greatest desire to ensure the safety of customers, strict social distancing measures are followed.

The next auction for Dartmoor will be held as an online-only “timed” auction, at 10am on Thursday 28 May, until the hammer falls on the following Sunday at 8pm.

A catalogue of the wide variety of items on offer will be released on 20 May, for viewing and questions.

The website, Easy Live Auctions (www.easyliveauction.com) makes the buying experience an easy one, you can register to bid in a matter of seconds and the rest is taken care of for you, from organising shipping procedures to notifying you if you have won items.

The items are all of a very high quality this month. Dartmoor has made a reputation for itself due to selling wonderful, unusual pieces of African art, of which there are many especially attractive carvings and pictures. This sale will also feature the very valuable Bedouin of Oman jewellery and Rye Studio Pottery, both collectible and precious sets of pieces. Additionally, there will be extremely valuable, beautiful stamp albums in this sale, put together by one man who devoted his life’s work to the albums, they are quite a sight to behold. Moreover, the sale will also contain a huge collection of 9ct gold jewellery of all types, wonderfully crafted furniture and ornaments, not to mention our distinctive number of books, both educational and characterful in their own right.

So take a look at the diversity of items on offer, and let the Dartmoor team handle the rest for you.
