Cummings did himself no favours

-

ONCE again the press have gone to town printing some untruths in the case of Dominic Cummings and it has become just another out of control “witch hunt”. He has been hounded by the press and has had to run the gauntlet of a braying mob each time he leaves his house.

After saying this, he is his own worst enemy as he doesn’t do himself any favours with his arrogant and selfish attitude, and he gives the impression he has no respect for anyone. Also, the way he dresses when he is working shows his lack of respect.

He needs lessons on diplomacy and how to mix and socialise generally. The main problem is, we were all told at the beginning to “Stay at home” and nothing was verbally said about exceptions with children who could be at risk.

We were told we could look on the website for more details, but many people still don’t have computers or use the website.

Also it is like telling us to read the “small print” and how many people do that? Again and again we are told in no uncertain terms to “Stay at home, stay safe,” which we accepted as it put the fear of God into us.

The Government should have given us more details. I am sure the Press knew of these exceptions but why didn’t report them?

I watched and listened to Dominic Cummings at his press conference and almost felt sorry for him, he came over very well and seemed contrite, although I did feel he could have actually said “sorry”. ( I was also quite impressed the way he dressed.)

I felt he answered the journalists’ questions with a lot of patience, as most of them seemed to repeat some of each other’s questions.

The police must refund the fines they imposed on other families who have been fined for taking their children at risk to stay with families, or fine Dominic Cummings, he should certainly be fined for going to Barnard Castle and getting out of his car, otherwise it is plain to see there is one law for us and another law for them.
