Online auction will have more than 850 lots
THE sale on Thursday, due to the current Government restrictions, will be sold online via saleroom. com where every lot is illustrated. Commission and telephone bids will be accepted prior to the start of the sale.
This large auction, having more than 850 lots, contains many interesting lots. A topical item is a medical influence brooch in the form of an entwined serpent climbing a poll with pearls to top and base. This antique piece of jewellery is expected to make £400-£600 and could be a present to somebody who has worked during these stressful times.
Another item in the sale is a ruby and diamond flower head brooch with a tied ribbon and stem, set in platinum being 2” in height and the clear stones are expected to make £700-£1,000.
An item very much in vogue are carved cameos and the one illustrated is carved from stone rather than a shell and should make between £80-£100.
Amongst the silver items is a late Victorian hallmarked silver holder with spaces for sovereign and half sovereign on one side, and silver coinage on the other. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1897 and expected to make £200-£300.
There is a collection of caddy spoons on offer including one in the form of a hand which was made in Birmingham in 1826 and should make in the region of £60-£80.
In Victorian times, card cases for both private and business were popular and the one illustrated was made in Birmingham in 1871 and is estimated at £70-£100.
