-

THURSDAY’S Antiques & General auction will go ahead as planned as Clarks’ has its first sale since March 26.

Viewing will be on the Tuesday and Wednesday prior the sale and the sale will have two internet bidding platforms on the day.

The sale consists of quite an eclectic mix. Opening with furniture, a decorative satinwood style wardrobe asks £100-150 whilst similar is asked for a good 1930’s camphor wood chest, originally from a member of the Tetley family. One of the rarer pieces is a genuine pine Cornish dresser. Designed to fit into the small Cornish cottage, this pretty piece has a guide of £100-150.

A handsome 18thC. carved oak coffer (£60-80) offered up alongside a small retro sideboard (£30-40) both ought to find new homes.

An antique nine drawer desk needs some tlc but is not expensive at £60-80 whilst an Edwardian mahogany chest of drawers at £40-50 should be moving on.

A smart Chinese hardwood altar table (£60-80) & a handsome oak extending table (£50-60) also catch the eye.

An antique wicker steamer trunk may have appeal to classic car collectors (£100-200) and a Victorian riveted copper log box (£60-80) have chances. A Grants of St. James coopered oak barrel could have a new life as a stick stand (£60--80) while a MOD ships signalling lamp ought to find a new home at £20-30.

Among the many collectable items include a Chinese archaic bronze censer which came out of the Tetley family whom the vendor was related to. A guide of £100-150 has been attached.

Troika does as good as anywhere at Clarks Cornish saleroom and a large Troika lamp base (£200-300), should find its level.

A small boxed set of silver spoons (£20-30) and a 9ct diamond & ruby art deco style ring (£60-80), have good chances to get away as does a ladies Rolex Tudor Oyster stainless steel wristwatch with Rolex strap at £100200.

A pair of bicolour 18ct gold bangles (£1500-2000) & an 18ct gold ring set with emerald and diamonds (£100150), both have strong claims to moving on.
