My children have not had MMR vaccine
I REFER to Edward Kynaston’s letter about vaccinations.
He is quite right about the need to be vaccinated against diseases but is wrong about MMR. These are not ‘terrible diseases’.
Rubella (aka German measles) is only a risk to the unborn foetus in a woman.
As a child I attended a measles party with others from my school to ensure we all had the disease and got herd immunity. This was at the age of five.
I had mumps as a child and it was considered a routine illness in childhood. Nothing ‘down below’ went wrong and I have since brought up a happy and healthy family.
None of my children have had the MMR vaccine.
