Discover a wonderland to suit all tastes
ASHBURTON is both picturesque and charming, sitting snugly at the foot of Dartmoor with the Ashburn river babbling through the centre.
Currently though it is not very different from any other small town in the UK, well renowned for its plethora of small ‘quirky’ independent shops usually rammed full of discerning Christmas shoppers on the prowl for ‘something different.’
This year, for reasons that need no explanation the streets are quiet, BUT this small Devon town… ‘Still Believes’ in Santa and his Elves, Christmas Wishes, Good Will, Carols, ‘faithful friends that are near to us and family that are dear to us’ and all that Christmas stands for.
All businesses are decorated to reflect this, they are open, safe and eager to welcome customers that would like to feel a little bit of ‘Christmas magic’ and perhaps purchase something a little different.
One of these businesses, The Ashburn Gallery has individual and unique pieces that are perfect for all pockets and tastes, from artisan designer jewellery to ceramic hares and foxes created by artist Gin Durham, and textile delights from Anna Osborne.
The Gallery now in its second year is situated just off the long stay car park and is easily accessible. So please do visit if you can and ‘Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas time.’ For any information about the Ashburn Gallery, please visit www.theashburngallery.co.uk, email sue@ashburngallery.co.uk, or call on 01752 853294 .
