Millbrook relishing Vase run

-

MILLBROOK have performed wonders to reach the third round of the FA Vase for the first time in their history and they will cause another huge giantkilling if they can get a result at United Services Portsmouth today.

The South West Peninsula League side overcame Bashley, of Wessex League Premier Division, last week with a rousing 2-0 victory in which goalkeeper Chris Wearing emerged as the hero with two penalty saves.

Today’s opponents are at the same level as Millbrook, who are playing at this stage for the first time in their history.

“It’s exciting times for us, history-making stuff,” chairman Mark Patten said. “We are proper, proper excited, the lads are buzzing and theya re up for it and it has given the whole village something to talk about. It’s been good!”
