FILTER WATER

ONE or two of us may have had the odd tipple this Christmas despite the subdued nature of the occasion – and there’s nothing better when it comes to dispelling the results of alcohol than lots and lots of water.

Our house was put on mains water not long ago and I still cannot get over the taste and smell of the industrial stuff that comes down the pipe - which is why I am addicted to the contents of my Zero Water Filter Jug. It really does produce spring water from the tap - www. zerowater.co.uk

RUB-A-DUB-DUB

THE team from the well known USA-inspired Topsham restaurant, The Pig and Pallet, have launched a new range of rubs aimed at taking cuts of pork and other BBQ items to another level.

“The Smokehouse General is great for pork - we use it for all pork, ribs, pulled pork before smoking,” say the Topsham team. “Barista Beef is a beef mocha rub – we use on short ribs and whole beef joints. Wings an’ Tings is a lightly spice rub paired perfectly with chicken, while Very Vegan is just a great rub to make vegan BBQ or home cooking have a bit more of a punch.”

The four new rubs cost £4 each (or 4 for £14) and can be ordered online at www.pigandpallet.co.uk
