Opposition fears after Uganda vote
UGANDANS were voting Thursday in a presidential election tainted by widespread violence that some fear could escalate, as security forces try to stop supporters of leading opposition challenger Bobi Wine from monitoring polling. Mr Wine tweeted the military had entered and “taken control” of his home and “we are in serious trouble” just hours after he alleged that Thursday’s election was rigged. Long-time president Yoweri Museveni leads the other candidates in provisional results.
