G7 chance to really tackle climate change

-

WE were interested to read the article about Cornwall being proud to bring the G7 leaders to Carbis

Bay, but waxing lyrical about Richard Branson’s Virgin Orbit company, especially the bit about flying incredibly rich people into space just for a kind of high-end fun experience, surely missed the point: here is a wonderful opportunity for all these leaders to put their heads together to try and resolve the dreadful threats of climate change, as well as focusing on social justice and the environment generally. Putting a load of toffs into space for their personal thrills with all the accompanying pollution and massive waste of the earth’s resources, let alone the racket and horrible disturbance all over the coast for the rest of us, doesn’t really seem a good way to aid global recovery.
