Don’t trust German view on Oxford jab
THE German government has increased its pressure on the Oxford Covid-19 vaccine by telling the world that it shouldn’t be given to over 65s as there is not enough trial data. This, after ten years when VW and
Mercedes both prospered by selling diesel vehicles with computers pre-loaded with software to cheat compulsory EU exhaust emission tests.
Germany claims that the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine should not be used on those over 65 years old as its effectiveness has not been proved. It is saying this even before the Oxford vaccine has been licenced for use in the EU.
I am over 80 years old and I have had my first Oxford vaccination with which I am very happy, and now looking forward to my second jab.
I think the UK government should refuse requests for Oxford vaccine export licences to Germany and force it to produce its own Covid-19 vaccines, which might make it learn enough to have a valid opinion on the subject.
