UK government has failed the nation

-

HELEN Capel asks us to stop blaming Boris Johnson for the spread of Covid-19. Could I politely remind her, and similar apologists for Mr Johnson, that more of her fellow citizens have died than in any European country and that only countries with vastly larger populations than ours have recorded more deaths.

Does she really think that the tiny fraction of the population who have held illegal raves are to blame for this?

Or might it be the baffling government decisions to lock down weeks too late, keep our borders open and allow Christmas mixing?

She castigates Keir Starmer for failing to praise Boris Johnson (not the job of the Leader of the Opposition) and for looking ‘miserable’.

Presumably she prefers to see a Prime Minister who jokes about ‘Operation Last Gasp’, ‘squashing the sombrero’ and shaking hands with everyone on a Covid ward, whilst thousands of Britons lay dying and families around the country are left inconsolable with grief.
