HOTEL TO SHOWCASE MARKETS
TALKING of the Fowey Hall Hotel where Wesley is head chef (see today’s recipes), the grand establishment which looms above the famous Cornish harbour town is launching a series of outdoor markets later this month.
Stall-holders have been invited to take part free of charge and shoppers will have a unique opportunity to purchase vegetables and other items produced by regenerative farming techniques in the area.
“Fowey Hall Hotel has some of the UK’s most scenic coastal views and alongside regenerative farm produce shops you can buy coffee, bacon sandwiches and cakes, as well as goods from local basket weavers, wood carvers, potters, quilters, artists – and there’ll be antiques, Cornish storytellers and musicians, and lots more,” says former Port Eliot Festival director and co-founder, and director of Farms to Feed Us, Cathy St Germans.
Simon Maguire, managing director at Luxury Family Hotels, says: “We think it’s important to support local and regional businesses in the area and showcase their exceptional produce and products. We believe we are the first hotel in the UK that’s creating a local market in its grounds which benefits the local community as we come out of lockdown.”
Launching on May 30th, the market will run every other Sunday – although there are plans to stage it weekly if demand dictates.
