Johnson calls for ‘calmness’

-

look like a non-league game, that’s for sure”

Johnson admits there is a certain kind of pressure that comes with a run-in like this – but it is something he has experience of. He has taken both Yeovil Town and Cheltenham Town back to the Football League in his career.

“You would be lying if you said there wasn’t any pressure but it is how you deal with that pressure,” he said. “It is how you deal with it as individuals and how you deal with it as a group.

“From a managerial point of view you have got to show a calmness but an intensity to go and win the games. They know me now and I know them and we sort of all know how to treat each other to keep us on the straight and narrow.

“You have got to believe that you have got a game that can win the game – there are lots of variables of course and there are some fine margins, and those fine margins can win and lose you the game.

“So we have to be very strong in what we are trying to achieve and stay calm – stay calm and stay competitive.”

Despite the team drawing a blank at the weekend, Johnson is likely to continue with Scott Boden and Billy Waters up front, with Benji Kimpioka on the bench alongside Josh Umerah. Fellow striker Danny Wright is still recovering from his latest hamstring injury – but may be back for the last game.

Defender Gary Warren missed the Bromley game after dislocating a finger against Chesterfield. There is no news on how far away defender Kyle Cameron and wingers Ben Whitfield and Aaron Nemane are. Midfielder Armani Little has been on the bench recently but could be a starting pick tomorrow.
