THE Fire Fighters Charity has volunteering opportunities available at Harcombe House, the Devon-based centre. Located in the heart of Dartmoor among 320 acres, Harcombe House offers an outstanding environment for the charity’s beneficiaries, guests and public, and a significant part of that is

The Stables café, an exciting new venture.

The Stables is a café that was recently refurbished in 2020 as part of the £1.8m redevelopment of the Harcombe House site. The café is a stunning and relaxing location where people meet and enjoy locally produced food and refreshments. Sitting under the roof of a 100-year-old rustic barn, The Stables has 40 seats inside and features a 20-seat veranda with breathtaking views of the valley.

The Fire Fighters Charity is recruiting new café volunteers to work in

The Stables. These volunteers will be integral members of the wider hospitality team, supporting the charity and the community.

Volunteering for just a few hours each week makes a real difference to the service that the charity can offer and is a highly rewarding experience for the volunteers too. The café volunteers will work with colleagues to provide locally produced food and refreshments to the beneficiaries and customers of

The Stables.

Volunteering is an excellent opportunity to support and become involved in the community, with several professional and personal benefits that will stand the test of time. At The Fire Fighters Charity, volunteers will help them make a difference, meet people, learn new skills, take on challenges, and have fun. Most importantly, they will be supporting one of the most vital public services.

Upon joining The Fire Fighters Charity, volunteers will receive a comprehensive induction and training to support them in the role, and they will be involved in actively supporting and empowering the fire service family.

The Fire Fighters Charity supports active and retired fire and rescue service personnel, their dependents, and other eligible members of the UK fire services community, helping them to live happier and healthier lives.
