Lots of lots this month
NOVEMBER starts off with a lot of lots at Charterhouse in Sherborne as it has four specialist auctions over three days.
“To say our team of valuers have been busy is probably an understatement,” commented Richard Bromell. “We have been out and about travelling throughout the Westcountry and beyond valuing and advising on a broad range of specialist items and the November auctions are looking great being full of market fresh lots.”
The first Charterhouse auction, on the morning of Wednesday, November 2, is devoted to Asian Art. Star of the show is a Chinese porcelain vase, from a private collection in Dorset, is estimated at £10,000-15,000.
This is followed later on in the same day with the residual stock from a New Forest independent wine merchants’ shop. Being sold due to the retirement of the owner, there are over 1,000 bottles of champagne, red and white wine along with gin and whisky.
Perfect for Christmas and dinner parties most of the stock is being sold without reserve.
On Thursday, November 3, Charterhouse is selling a vast selection of silver, jewellery and watches. Many lots here will be perfect for Christmas gifts such as his and her Rolex wristwatches. The one lot which stands out here is a massive three-stone diamond ring from a client in Wiltshire estimated at £15,000-20,000
This is then followed on Friday, November 4, with an auction of antiques and interiors These popular auctions include Georgian, Victorian and later furniture and furnishings with this sale including a set of 14 George III style mahogany dining chairs perfect for entertaining friends and family estimated at £500-1,000.
Viewing for these auctions, at The Long Street Salerooms, Sherborne, starts on Monday, October 31.
