ALONE AT HOME
Channel 4, 8pm APPARENTLY we are all helicopter parents – anxiously hovering near our kids at all times, always ready to tell them to stop doing something that might be annoying, dangerous or just stupid.
So this series, which watches to see if kids can become more independent if parents leave them alone for a while, has been quite eye-opening.
In this final episode, single mother Alison wants to see if leaving her four daughters for a long weekend will make them more self-sufficient. Anya, the eldest at 15, admits she’s not very responsible and is often in “dream world”. There’s also 13-year-old Freya, and Isla, eight, and Evie, aged 10.
Alison is about to spend the longest time apart from her girls. Can she stop worrying and will the sisters cope?
