The EU just wants our money
Why is it whenever politicians talk about Brexit they always state the view of “big business” and take little account of the views of the majority who voted to leave EU?
Over the 45-odd years since we have been in various flavours of EU, the big business multinationals have made billions in profits most of which doesn’t stay in Britain whilst the voting public have had ERM, inflation, high interest rates causing negative equity on their homes, small businesses struggling to survive or going bankrupt, food prices rising.
In the early 1970s, petrol was about 35p per gallon (approximately 4.5 litres) when you went on holiday to France which, contrary to scare stories, was quite easy before the EU a double bedroom in a small hotel could be had for the equivalent of about £1.50 per night.
Good luck finding that today.
Politicians say think about the young people. When they have had the experience of 45 years of EU rule, I believe they will make the same choice as the majority of the public made in the referendum in 2016.
If instead of trying to change the result the politicians had accepted it and gone straight to World Trade Organisation rules two years ago then by now our country could be thriving again truly run by Westminster and not subservient to the EU and the European Courts.
We are the third highest net contributor to the EU coffers behind Germany and France – it is our money they want!
