80 firefighters tackle major blaze above pub

More than 80 firefighters tackled a major fire which broke out at a block of flats above a pub yesterday. Crews were called to the blaze at around 7.50am, after the fire broke out in flat on Harbour Road, Seaton, East Devon, above The Royal Clarence pub. A man has been arrested. The block houses a total of 14 flats, all of which were evacuated. Some residents were treated at the scene by paramedics. Ten fire appliances were called to the scene and had contained the fire by mid-morning.
