Remembering loved ones at Christmas
IF YOU’VE LOST SOMEONE CLOSE, CO-OP WILL HELP YOU CELEBRATE THEIR LIFE
Christmas can be a very difficult time of year if you’ve lost a loved one.
Although birthdays and anniversaries are hard if you’re navigating a personal journey with grief, enduring what is billed as “the most magical season of all” can be especially challenging.
While everyone around you seems to be planning to celebrate this nostalgic family occasion and looking ahead to a new year, you might be looking back and remembering the important people close to you who truly exceptional year for all the wrong reasons, Co-op Funeralcare will be helping bereaved families this festive season by holding a virtual memorial service on Saturday December 5 at 3pm, enabling them to reflect and remember loved ones.
The service, which includes poetry and singing from the Co-op choir, aims to bring communities together, as the Co-op has done for decades. Participants can come together with each other to listen to guest speakers, join a candle lighting, sing and also share a tribute in memory of their loved one.
Many of Co-op Funeralcare’s funeral homes will also have a memorial tree. With social distancing restrictions and people currently shielding due to Covid-19, at the moment it’s not always possible to visit a funeral home in person.
Instead, if you would like the local Co-op Funeralcare team to place a tag on a memorial tree on your behalf, please give your nearest funeral home a call and they will be happy to follow your wishes.
Co-op Funeralcare’s memorial tree service is open to everyone, not just those who have arranged a funeral through the Co-op.
And remember, you can sign up for Co-op Funeralcare’s virtual memorial service at coopmemorialservice.co.uk.
