Lowe glad for support at Argyle

-

RYAN Lowe has issued a message of thanks to all those who stuck by him and his Plymouth Argyle players during a torrid run of results.

It came after the Pilgrims returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over MK Dons at

Home Park, which ended a run of six successive League One defeats.

They moved five positions up the table to 14th as Lowe and his players provided an early Christmas present for the Green Army.

Lowe said: “A small minority of people will be negative about what we are doing. I keep saying it, we are the new boys (in League One).

“We haven’t embedded ourselves in Plymouth Argyle for nothing. We are on a journey.

“If the minority want to shout and scream and boo, and say this and say that, then fine, crack on.

“But the die-hards, especially the ones who were here today and the ones who can’t be here - let’s not forget them - rode that team on today.

“I heard them when they (the players) went out for the warm up. They were clapping and I thought ‘Yeah, a great sign’.

“During the game they were singing non-stop, which was great. Then, at the end of the game, to give them my fist pump, which I haven’t given them for ages, was excellent because I have missed it, and probably so have they.

“The ones who are with us, they know that we are on the right track.

“I just want to thank everyone for their messages. It’s only three points so I’m not getting carried away but when tough times arise you have got to be tough people.

“The people who have stuck with us and said ‘Don’t worry, it’s going to be fine’, they know who they are, a big thank you from me to them.”

In a game of few clearcut chances, Lowe added: “We were on the front foot, right at MK Dons, and the lads took on board everything we asked them to do, so fair play.”
