Saving Santa!

-

Charlotte and Matt Bass from Headcorn in Kent are among Britain’s Best Neighbours – for helping save Santa!

The couple, both 34, stepped in to stop youngsters missing out. Dressed in borrowed Santa and elf costumes, they made surprise visits, delivering presents.

Charlotte, who has a toddler Nell, says the idea for their Doorstep Santa came when Tier 3 dashed parents’ Christmas hopes.

“We went from house to house, sending a text first, so parents could hide a present outside.

Then Santa knocked on the door, handed it over and I took socially distanced photos.

Laura Gough, who nominated Charlotte and Matt, says their rescue mission saved Christmas. “My little boy Toby is two,” she says. “His face lit up when he heard the jingle bells outside.”
