Dog attack – woman breaks leg

-

POLICE want to trace the owner of a German shepherd dog which attacked a whippet and left its owner with a broken leg.

They also want witnesses to the incident which happened on Instow beach on Saturday, December 12 between 7.30am and 8am.

The appeal by Devon and Cornwall Police says: “Police received a report that a female dog walker was walking her dog when a large German shepherd dog chased and pinned the whippet down. The female owner separated the two dogs and the German shepherd returned and tried to get to her dog, however, in the process the German shepherd knocked the owner over causing her a nasty break to her leg.

“An elderly gentleman did help the injured woman but she was not able to get his details.

“The owner of the German shepherd is described as a white male, approx. 5ft 7ins tall, stocky build with light coloured cropped hair.”
