Woman, 31, on murder charge
A WOMAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of 60-year-old Stephen Fogg in Wembury.
Homeless Jodie Swannick, aged 31, appeared before Plymouth magistrates yesterday.
A second suspect held over the death, a 41-year-old man from the Plymouth area, remains in custody.
Swannick is charged with murdering Mr Fogg between December 14 and December 17.
She was not asked to enter a plea and spoke only to confirm her date of birth and that she was of no fixed address during a twominute hearing before Plymouth magistrates.
Alison May, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said that the case was so serious it had to be heard at a Crown Court.
Magistrates remanded Swannick back into custody. She was due to appear over a videolink before a judge at Exeter Crown Court later yesterday.
Murder cases have to come before a Crown Court judge within 24 hours for a bail application – though these are often technical hearings.
