Cut Boris and his team some slack

-

IT is time Boris Johnson and his government were given credit for the way they are trying to stop the spread of Covid 19, also for handling Brexit with the EU making more demands from us.

I see that Barnier is now saying we should respect their sovereignty as well as they should respect ours, I suppose that is a slight change in our favour, but the EU has never had any respect for Britain.

Now with the French banning lorries going over from Dover for two days because of the new Covid strain, when all lorries do is drop their goods off and return back home. Surely they could now go to Rotterdam or Zeebrugge then into France?

I just wonder if there is more to it as this is typical of the French

(who never liked us in spite of what we did for them in the First World War), and will not help in the Brexit negotiations unless they can get what they want.

Perhaps our supermarkets will at last realise how important it is for our farmers to produce home grown vegetables and fruit, etc, and not screw down the prices of these products to our growers as they have done in the past.

I doubt if Keir Starmer could have done any better, he says he will back Boris, but all he does is complain and criticise with his negative thinking because he can’t get his own way.

Why do we hear nothing from Liberal Party leader Ed Davey – is he hibernating?

I would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and all the best for 2021.
