Explanation for lights in the sky
THE mystery over a spotlight which appeared without warning in the skies over Exeter on Tuesday night has been solved.
An events lighting company said it was testing out its new searchlight – known as a space cannon – by shining the beam up into the sky over the city.
People living in the St Thomas and Exwick areas of the city reported the twin beams of light shooting up into the air but no problem was caused for anybody on the ground or in the skies.
