Police come to rescue of stricken owl

POLICE officers in Teignmouth and Dawlish have proved they are about more than just cuffing offenders by coming to the aid of a stricken bird.

Teignmouth and Dawlish Police shared a picture of an owl they helped rescue on their Facebook page. The caption, shared alongside a picture of the adorable owl, read: “We have been busy tonight rescuing the cutest little owl that was found in the middle of the road – clearly needing help. It’s now safely with the vets receiving treatment. Thank you so much to the members of the public who stopped to help.”

The officers’ work was wellreceiv­ed with commenters thanking them for taking the time to help such a beautiful bird.

Helena Mancey wrote: “Thank you for taking the time to do a lovely job like that. Well done.”

Heather Stevens added: “Well done, they are beautiful birds.” Other people commenting on the post sent the owl get well soon messages.
