Why don’t we revert to lbs and ozs, too?

-

FREEDOM at last! We can ignore the dominating irrational rules dealt out by the EU which Britain slavishly adopted without asking the electorate.

I particularly would like to go back to the old ‘pounds and ounces’ days as all my cookery books are in pounds and ounces. It has been a nightmare having to weigh out all my ingredients in grams every time I want to cook. It was far easier in the old days when all ingredients could be measured out using only a tablespoon and a jug. It also meant less washing up and more room in the store cupboard.

I also welcome the new rule that all packages must have a customs form completed on it. It will reduce the number of illegal items coming into this country. Can we also go back to having all the road signs in miles and gallons as I am sick of having to convert metric totals into miles and gallons! I simply cannot visualise metres or litres!

All the British measurements were created before scales were invented and could use everyday equipment found in the kitchen.
