IT doesn’t sound like the most fun dinner party there’s ever been: a night of fine dining and good company, where your menu choice is measured and weighed by a team of scientists and hidden mathematicians working out what the carbon footprint and environmental impact of your meal is.
Oh, and Gregg Wallace is your waiter.
But with food accounting for a third of all greenhouse gas emissions, it’s becoming more and more important for us all to know where our food comes from and what impact it has.
Comedians Sara Pascoe and Desiree Burch are dining alongside food critic Matthew Fort, and journalists Nikki Fox and Amol Rajan.
Will they, and we the viewers, be able to pick the plates that are least harmful? That way, we could all start to choose meals that literally don’t cost the earth.
